I Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, the best present I received was my little brother coming up for Christmas day & Boxing Day. I haven't had a Christmas with him for over 11 years.

Because the boys are older, and are too interested in playing on  their computer games, I have had time to scrap these past few days.

Scrap the Girls - August Challenge

I was on a roll last weekend when joining in on a 'blog challenge catch up' which the lovely Charm from Charms Creations organised over Facebook. this is another layout I completed
     (others still works in progress)
The Scrap the Girls challenge for this month was to create a layout using the recipe of :-
                                                                              *chipboard or veneers
And this is what I created...
I have used some Scrapmatts chipboard butterflies, my fav mask at the moment - hexagons, 3 different flowers from my stash and doodling around the hexagons and doily to highlight them a little better.

Show us your stuff & Sketches with a Twist August challenge

This month Show us your stuff and Sketches with a twist have combined their challenge.
The challenge is to use the below sketch using a hand made embellishment (SUYS) and also using a safety pin (SWAT)

    This is the sketch...

And this is what I created...
    On The Endeavour
This layout has a picture of my boys on the 'Endeavour' at Sea World back in 2009.
I have used a handmade button from Purple Pumpkin and also a Flair Button that also comes from Purple pumpkin.
I have used a safety pin next to the knot in the tied muslin used on my layout.

    Scrap Matts Creations for August

The DT were asked to create a project based around father's for Fathers day and to create 3 is what I created...
    My Layout for Father's Day...
You don't raise heroes, you raise Sons...
I decided to create a layout of my Husband and our two boys, the quote on the paper worked really well for this layout...along with the awesome Scrapmatts chipboard I used...
I used one of the circles (CB8001 Circles 01) I embossed it with copper coloured embossing powder, after I had heat set it I quickly used a stamp to make impressions onto the circle. I then rubbed some brown ink over the circle and then rubbed over it with some paper towel to remove the excess and I got this awesome vintage/rustic look.
I also used the Simple Pleasures Tag (CB1209 Scrap Words 12)
and the Grass (CB5100 Grass 2)
    And the Christmas cards...
    Christmas Tree Joy card

This was a fun card to create. The tree is made by rolling patterned paper into little rolls and then cutting them so they gradually get smaller to the tip of the tree.
I used the word Joy (CB1101 Words 21 Joy) I also used
the pretty star (CB6081 Christmas Stars 02)
    Merry Christmas Reindeer card

I used the cute Reindeer (CB1093 Reindeers 01) I used red Kindy Glitz to cover the reindeer to give it the awesome sparkly finish.

    Merry Christmas Poinsettia card
