Sometimes Angels Come Without Wings

Over on the Stick n Giggle Blog Jody has put up an awesome sketch challenge for this month.

Here is the sketch:

This is my take on the sketch...

This is a layout of my Niece Mia, is is sooo cute, about a week old in this pic. I titled the layout 'Sometimes angels come without wings' cos to me she is such a beautiful little angel. I have used Kaisercraft Lullaby papers, doilies and some purple pumpkin embellishments.

Now for some close ups....
This is a flower i love to make using my sewing machine, i finished it off with a Purple Pumpkin pink spotty button, i think it works well with the layout...

Here is a close up of a doily I used, i placed the image of the pink pram in the center

This is a felt and button flower from Purple Pumpkin, i thought the soft colours went really well with this kaisercraft collection.

Thanks for looking

Send in the clowns

Today I would love to share with you the layout I did for my Purple Pumpkin post.
I created a double page layout (something i dont do very often!!!)

Andy and Fletcher were in the same class in 2010 and the theme for the term was "circus" so on one of the days htey had to dress up as a clown....so i took some pics (well almost 50 on the day) and this is one layout i have created with the photos from the day.

you cant really see the detail as well in this large image so i will break it down for you....

Left hand side layout using Echo Park papers and some purple pumpkin embellishments

This is a close up of the circle/star embellishment sitting on top of a folded rosette, it adds dimension to the layout.

the right hand side of the layout

Close up of the Large Monkey button, doily and yellow vinyl tag.

Recipe Challenge on The Lounge

This weekend has been busy over at Scrap Lounge with their first Cyber Crop for 2012
The theme was 'holidays'.
As a CT member I got to choose a challenge to set, so i chose a recipe challenge

The Recipe:

  • One page layout
  • Use 2 patterned papers
  • 2 coloured cardstock
  • 3 buttons
  • Paint
  • Recycled object
  • 2 photos (any size)

 My layout:

This photo is of my boys when we went to Point Look out in North Stradbroke Island, the view was amazing, a very beautiful place to visit.

And a close up of the Layout

I wanted to have the illusion of the sun so used a small yellow Doily, and as it was a lil cloudy that day the blue clouds tied in perfectly with the colour scheme of the layout, I also used a navy blue spotted button

I have used this spotted yo yo flower with button, the colours just went so well with everything on the layout.

And a close up of my recycle object (cardboard box) and a cool treasure chest button i found marked down at spotlight

2012 and Purple Pumpkin

Wow, 2012 already...Happy New year everyone and I hope you all had a wonderful celebration last night and didn't have too much to drink :)
I had a very enjoyable evening with Nerrida and Tracey and their families, it was great to have an evening with such wonderful friends as in the past DT and I have had to work at the nightclub...
AWESOME food, AWESOME company and AWESOME Music...what more could you want???

Now on with a layout...I created this layout from and awesome sketch done by Sara Noendeng
for Purple Pumpkins January Sketch challenge...

And here is my take on the sketch....

I chose not to journal on this layout, something im very bad at doing...and I think I might have to make that a NEW year goal... 1. Must Journal somewhere on ALL layouts! (woo hoo 1 goal set!   I get away with it for this layout cos it was done before 2012 hehehe -cheeky)

I used 1 patterned piece of paper for this layout. it was a sheet of paper from Bo Bunny's Enchanted range this piece of paper is Enchanted Rose.
I used my fave Martha Stewart Punch, An awesome EK butterfly punch i have, some Black Mesh Ribbon from Green Tara, some Blue ribbon from my HUGE stash of ribbons (prop Spotlight) a 2Crafty chipboard corner that I coloured with Blue Pastel and then coated with Dimensional Magic...and of course...PURPLE PUMPKIN YUMMIES....

Here is a close up of the yummy Purple Pumpkin items I used...
Blue Doily, large white with black spots button, a blue/white and black/white spotted button. I used 2 of the butterflies i punched with my ek butterfly punch and placed them on the larger button...

And to bring in the New year why not a lil of
Auld Lang Syne with Lea Michele from the Awesome movie New Year's Eve
