More like a Sister

I have to share this layout I have done of my Bestest Friend's Wedding, Its also
a layout I created for Purple Pumpkin...

Nicole and I have known each other since we were 3...we have had our ups and downs like any friendship...but she is more like a sister to me then a friend. It was hard to leave Victoria and move to Queensland almost 10 years ago to the day, but I still know she is there for me as I am for her when we need each other. She is also the God Mother to both my boys...

So here is the layout titled 'Cherish'
I have used an Oldish Bo Bunny range called 'Jazmyne'
Not sure if you can really see it in this pic but I have crosed stitched down the middle of the papers using some pink/white bakers twine I got from Purple Pumpkin

and the close ups...

A super Xlarge yummy purple spotted button from Purple Pumpkin, some pink ribbon, purple/black feathers some pink/purple flowers and pearl beads for the centres of the flowers

A purple spotted button and pale pink doily from Purple Pumpkin, some purple buttons from my stash, a silver butterfly that I attached to the PP button, small purple/black feather and a hat pin from my stash.

12 Days of Christmas

I completed the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge ages ago over at Scrap Lounge, and can Proudly say I came 1st by popular vote from forum members in the challenge and scored myself an awesome Prize $50 voucher from Scrap Friends...

Here are all 12 of my entries...

1st Day "Create three (3) tags to attach to your Christmas gifts."

These tags were created with cream cardstock cut into a tag shape, I then randomly stamped a script font using pinecone ink. Heat embossed/stamped the gold baubles on the top right, the trees are from Scrapware, I inked them and covered the back with a patterned paper,I added the stripe paper with a tear some ribbons and lace.

Day 2 "Scrap your child's Christmas list"

This layout was created using an old Kaiser Christmas range 'Be Merry' I even did some paper rolling bottom left hand side and the wish list is hidden journaling.

Day 3 "Scrap a family Tradition"

My family tradition is the Christmas card photo shoot
This layout was created by the Kaiser craft range called 'Silly Season'

 Day 4 "Inspiration Layout"

I used scraps of papers in my stash to create this layout. I also used my Crafters Companion Stencil with red ink to get that dotted image in the layout.

Day 5 "Create a Gift Box"
I also one a prize for this Challenge
For the gift box I used Echo Park 'Seasons Greetings' and a Scrapware birdy

Day 6 "Create a Christmas card using all of the following techniques...

- masking
- stamping
- stitching (hand or machine)

I enjoyed making this card, I heat embossed with silver powder using Kaiser Christmas stamps, i 3d mounted them and using my Sew Easy created the 'chain' as my stitching. I used a punched out piece of paper as my 'mask' and used Some Glimmer Chalk to mist with on the card.

Day 7 "Sketch"

Again in this layout I used Kaiser crafts 'Silly Season' papers and rub ons

Day 8 "Scrap a white monochromatic Christmas layout"

The only paper I used was white cardstock...you cant see it very well but i embossed all the paper (except the background) using my embossing folders and big shot. I also added a handmade flower of mine, wooden flourishes and a wooden star I painted white.

Day 9 "Scrap a Layout using Non Traditional Colours (no red or green)"
I also one a prize for this Challenge
This was my fav challenge of all...I used my ALL TIME FAV paper range by Kaiser Craft called
'Le Chateau'  I stamped a Christmas tree onto some blue and white spotted paper to add a little bit of Christmas to the layout.

Day 10 "Create a Christmas layout using at least one embellishment created by paper piecing"

Paper piecing is really easy, I found an image on google, printed it up a few times and just cut different coloured papers to make this cute little reindeer.

Day 11 "Create a layout using the song Aussie Jingle Bells as inspiration"

This layout was created using Echo Park 'Season's Greetings' its a very old photo of me and my lil brother on the back of a truck with Santa.

Day 12 "Scrap a card suitable to send a gift card in"
And I won a prize for this Challenge Also
This card is meant to look like a wallet. I embossed using an embossing folder and big shot, i ran my brown ink gently over it, I then ran my embossing ink OVER the raised edges and then poured clear embossing powder over it and then heat set with my heat gun.
I mounted up the dog image using 3d mounts and presto a wallet card :)

I know its been a long post, but I hope it makes up for the last month I havent really posted...

I know Christmas it sorta over...but here is a fav xmas song of mine...

Purple Pumpkin Post

The layout Im sharing with you is the one I just posted over at the Purple Pumpkin Blog. I have used the awesome Kaiser Craft Cock-a-doodle-doo range (again - cant help it, its so damn cute!)

The pics are of Andy when he was a Toddler, my mother in law took him and Fletchy to some event, and they had tractors, trucks and farming stuff...(thats just a guess cos I didnt go)
I have used some red/white twine around the pics and have also used the Vinyl Cogs from some sets I have purchased from Purple Pumpkin...noice!

And a close up of the cogs - fantastic alternative to flowers when your boys complain about flowers on their layouts :/

This next project is a card i whipped up.
I have used just 1 simple button from Purple Pumpkin and created this card which i can now place in my stash of cards... such a simple design yet so pretty...

I have used one of the vintage girl buttons...yummo...

And here is a chipboard frame I embossed with gold embossing powder..i love this effect (this is 2 coats)

Im hoping to create a few more layouts this week so I hope to have more posted on here..

I cant do a post without a song, and i know this really doesnt have anything to do with my projects in this post, its such a fun boppy song that i love to listen to when im working away on stuff...enjoy :)

Scrap Lounge Sketch Challenge November

Hello there. At Scrap Lounge this month they have a wonderful sketch challenge.

Here is the sketch...

And my layout.....

I flipped the sketch around to suit the photos I had. This is Fletchy on his very first horse ride earlier this year. I used the new Kaiser Craft range called cock-a-doodle-doo...it is so cute.

This here is a close up of the cute horse chipboard, a tree with some sticky bling, and stickers from the sticker sheet.

Another fellow scrapper (Anne Patterson) ALWAYS stitches on her layouts and I just love it, I had never stitched a 'word' so i thought I would have a go, and Im really happy with the result.

And the yummy Purple Pumpkin I used...this spotty button is on top of a green doily that i cut the centre of and then cut in half, and above that are the really cool felt clouds from Purple Pumpkin...I just love these and I really need some more :)

Stuck?! October part 2 sketch challenge

Another Sketch...another challenge...
Stuck?! 2nd sketch for October...I really liked the sketch and loved the outcome...

Here is the sketch...

Here is my take on the sketch...

I was listening to Missy Higgins on the radio and that's how I came up with the title for this layout...
I love this photo, my son Andy took it when we were at the Japanese gardens in Ipswich last year.

Now the close up....YUMMY PURPLE PUMPKIN goodies...yeah!
i love the flowers Sam creates over at PP they are so cute, an added button and doily complete this little cluster... The twig and flowers come from an embellishment pack from k and co.

Have a great day and thanks for looking

Stuck?! October Part 1 sketch

The Mojo hasnt been as good as it should lately so i thought if I did a few challenges on some blogs it might help me get back into scrapping again...
Stuck?! Sketches is an awesome challenge Blog to get ideas from, I decided to have ago at this months challenges.

This is their 1st challenge for October....

...and here is my take on the sketch...

You cant see it too well from this pic as the papers are very pale but the title is the saying "Live as though Heaven is on Earth"
The lil one is Mia my Niece (been scrapping her a lot lately - i miss her) I added some Kutalicious angel wings to the 'back' of Mia in the picture and thought that the title went perfect cos she is such a lil angel sent from heaven to us...

Can you see the border on my layout??? its very soft I know and yep the photo doesn't do it justice...but i did that border all by myself using water colour pencils...

oh and the yummies of course come from Purple pumpkin. I layered the felt flower onto a die cut from the paper range I used and then added the soft pink flower button and pink twine tied around the butterfly charm...
The leaves are chipboard I got from WOW...

and a close up of the Kutalicious wings and another Purple Pumpkin felt flower...
The paper doily was 'white' but by using ink i was able to make it that soft lavender colour that it is...

Thanks so much for looking....hope you have a great rest of the day...

Black with 2 - October Challenge

I'm having ago at the challenge over at Black with 2 this month.

The challenge was to use the colours Black with Aqua and Baby Pink.

Here is my layout...

This is my Niece Mia, isn't she sooo cute.
I created the background by first using Aqua paint, I then used pink paint and my bubble wrap punch to go over the aqua.
I bordered each layer of paper with my black marker to define each edge.
I created the banner out of 2 different sized dies for my big shot.
I added a WOW chipboard flourish and used some Purple Pumpkin embellies...

Here is a close up of the Purple Pumpkin Goodies...the aqua doily was originally white, i then sprayed it with some Glimmer Mist to make it Aqua, the little pink doily and bird button complete this layout.

All the worlds a stage...

Well i think i was meant to be 'on stage' but missed the curtain call...

Over at Scrap Lounge is an awesome sketch challenge that i thought I would give a go...

here is the sketch...

and here is my take on the sketch...

I just LOVE this kaiser range it is one of my favourites...
This is a pic of me when I was around 3 years old.
Ive been told I loved those red shoes and would wear them everywhere...
The little block of writing on the bottom right is a chipboard embellishment that reads..
'All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players' - William Shakespeare

Now for the close ups....

Here you can see a red crochet flower with a bling centre that is from Bella, the cream crochet flower has been in my stash of goodies for sooo long i cant even remember where it comes from...and the cute Rabbit button comes from Purple Pumpkin

again another lot of crochet flowers and I have also made a rosette..

I love how this banner turned out i double layered it cream, then with the red pp.

Just Like Daddy

Took Fletcher to see his Daddy Working this week at Mt Ommaney. DT has been doing stuff for Radio Kid in conjunction with River 94.9.

Here are some pics of Fletch and DT doing Radio Kid. (basicly its a chance for the kids to have a go at being an announcer for radio, they even get a copy of themselves on cd to take home with them)

Its so cute to see Fletch doing this radio stuff, just like his Daddy. Fletch has even done some radio commercials for River 94.9. He says he is going to sue the money he makes for the commercials to buy an IPad 2...gotta love it!!

This is a Pic of Fletchy and I for his first Christmas. I cant believe how young I look (i was 24)
The papers I used are Kaiser Craft Miss Nelly. From the 61/2 x 61/2 paper pad - I love using these small pads to create a 12x12 layout.
The white flowers and leaves are Green Tara...I also made the red roses using a sizzix die...AWESOME!
The word Hugs is a chipboard I had lying around from Scrapware.

This was my first time over at Scrap Lounge and i LOVE it!!! some fantastic work by ladies, great inspiration!

Hope you have all been having a great week...I have missed being at my shop but I know my boys have loved spending time with their Mummy.
