I was on a roll last weekend when joining in on a 'blog challenge catch up' which the lovely Charm from Charms Creations organised over Facebook. this is another layout I completed
 (others still works in progress)

The Scrap the Girls challenge for this month was to create a layout using the recipe of :-

                                                                          *flowers
                                                                          *masking
                                                                          *doodling
                                                                          *chipboard or veneers

And this is what I created...

Happy
I have used some Scrapmatts chipboard butterflies, my fav mask at the moment - hexagons, 3 different flowers from my stash and doodling around the hexagons and doily to highlight them a little better.

Scrap Matts Creations for August

The DT were asked to create a project based around father's for Fathers day and to create 3 cards...here is what I created...

My Layout for Father's Day...

You don't raise heroes, you raise Sons...

I decided to create a layout of my Husband and our two boys, the quote on the paper worked really well for this layout...along with the awesome Scrapmatts chipboard I used...
I used one of the circles (CB8001 Circles 01) I embossed it with copper coloured embossing powder, after I had heat set it I quickly used a stamp to make impressions onto the circle. I then rubbed some brown ink over the circle and then rubbed over it with some paper towel to remove the excess and I got this awesome vintage/rustic look.
I also used the Simple Pleasures Tag (CB1209 Scrap Words 12)
and the Grass (CB5100 Grass 2)

And the Christmas cards...

Christmas Tree Joy card

This was a fun card to create. The tree is made by rolling patterned paper into little rolls and then cutting them so they gradually get smaller to the tip of the tree.
I used the word Joy (CB1101 Words 21 Joy) I also used
the pretty star (CB6081 Christmas Stars 02)

Merry Christmas Reindeer card

I used the cute Reindeer (CB1093 Reindeers 01) I used red Kindy Glitz to cover the reindeer to give it the awesome sparkly finish.

Merry Christmas Poinsettia card

Scraplounge - August

There has been soooo much happening with my family this last month that it has been impossible to get time to blog :(
But this weekend I am trying to 'catch up' so Im sorry if there are too many posts for today...LOL

There are still a few days to get your entries in for the Scrap Lounge challenges for August. They were based around the theme of 'Home is where the Heart is'

The Sketch Challenge was created by me and looks a little something like this..

And here is my layout...

There's no place like home
This is our new place where we are currently living....

And the technique challenge was: Create a layout using hearts and circles in your design..

And this was my example...

And these Guinea Pigs went wheek wheek all the way home

Seeing as the theme was around 'homes' I thought I would do my female Guinea Pigs home...

Earlier this month we also had a Cyber Crop also themed around 'home' although the CC is over for the month I wanted to share my layout with you.

My challenge was to create a layout of your favourite room where you live and you had to include journaling on why it is your favourite room...

You have until the end of the month to get your entries in
and if you are new to the lounge...tell them I sent you :)

Thanks for looking...

Bird Is The Word Courage Challenge

Hello everyone, I know its been ages since my last post but I have been flat out with the kids school and appointments...

I thought I would have a go at the 'courage' challenge over at Bird is the word

This is the sketch to use for inspiration, I have stuck to the sketch as best as I could, you also have to use the word Courage on the layout.

And here is the layout i came up with...

This is my older boy Andrew.
I have used a quote as my title to include the word 'courage'
the quote says...

'It takes Courage to grow up & become who you really are'

And some close ups...

These are the NEW Chevron chipboard pieces from Scrapmatts

I have a thing for using cogs/gears on boy pages, these too are also from Scrapmatts
The word remember also is a Scrapmatts chipboard word.

Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge - challenge 1 May

What did you want to be when you grew up??? That's the question/challenge that is over at
 this month for May!
So I thought I would give the challenge a go....

I found an old photo of me painting as a child ( something I was ALWAYS doing...)
I may not be a 'painter' as such but I am pretty arty and crafty and they go hand in hand...

I created the background by tearing old book pages and sticking them down onto card, I then dry brushed Gesso over the top and then using the awesome Dylusions Ink Sprays I created this artistic master piece!

There are also hints of Scrapmatts Butterflies, Purple pumpkin buttons and doily and Rainbow Splendour felt heart...
