Scraplounge - August

There has been soooo much happening with my family this last month that it has been impossible to get time to blog :(
But this weekend I am trying to 'catch up' so Im sorry if there are too many posts for today...LOL

There are still a few days to get your entries in for the Scrap Lounge challenges for August. They were based around the theme of 'Home is where the Heart is'

The Sketch Challenge was created by me and looks a little something like this..

And here is my layout...

There's no place like home
This is our new place where we are currently living....

And the technique challenge was: Create a layout using hearts and circles in your design..

And this was my example...

And these Guinea Pigs went wheek wheek all the way home

Seeing as the theme was around 'homes' I thought I would do my female Guinea Pigs home...

Earlier this month we also had a Cyber Crop also themed around 'home' although the CC is over for the month I wanted to share my layout with you.

My challenge was to create a layout of your favourite room where you live and you had to include journaling on why it is your favourite room...

You have until the end of the month to get your entries in
and if you are new to the lounge...tell them I sent you :)

Thanks for looking...

Bird Is The Word Courage Challenge

Hello everyone, I know its been ages since my last post but I have been flat out with the kids school and appointments...

I thought I would have a go at the 'courage' challenge over at Bird is the word

This is the sketch to use for inspiration, I have stuck to the sketch as best as I could, you also have to use the word Courage on the layout.

And here is the layout i came up with...

This is my older boy Andrew.
I have used a quote as my title to include the word 'courage'
the quote says...

'It takes Courage to grow up & become who you really are'

And some close ups...

These are the NEW Chevron chipboard pieces from Scrapmatts

I have a thing for using cogs/gears on boy pages, these too are also from Scrapmatts
The word remember also is a Scrapmatts chipboard word.

Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge - challenge 1 May

What did you want to be when you grew up??? That's the question/challenge that is over at
 this month for May!
So I thought I would give the challenge a go....

I found an old photo of me painting as a child ( something I was ALWAYS doing...)
I may not be a 'painter' as such but I am pretty arty and crafty and they go hand in hand...

I created the background by tearing old book pages and sticking them down onto card, I then dry brushed Gesso over the top and then using the awesome Dylusions Ink Sprays I created this artistic master piece!

There are also hints of Scrapmatts Butterflies, Purple pumpkin buttons and doily and Rainbow Splendour felt heart...

The Leibster Award...

I have been out of action for most of this month as the family and I have been extremely busy.
It started with our Easter camping trip, then when we got back had just over a week to pack all our belongings and move into our new home..April has been HUGE!

I finally had a chance to go back over comments that had been left for me on layouts I had posted for last month and came across an award I received from a fellow Design Team Member of Purple Pumpkin, who's work I admire very much...the talented Sarah Groen Its called the Leibster award.

A little about the award...

The Leibster Award was designed to be a blog award in the pay it forward fashion. It is awarded to blogs that have fewer than 200 followers to encourage new visitors to them. Once you have been nominated you award it to five other blogs.

The rules are: post the award on your blog, give the award to 5 bloggers who you appreciate that have fewer than 200 followers then leave a comment on their blogs to let them know you have given them this award.

There are Heaps of Scrappy friends of mine that I would love to share this award with...but alas there can only be 5 at this time from me...

 Here is my list :

Tracey Wilson - My partner in crime, such a beautiful person and she creates such beautiful work.

Anne P - The stitching Queen herself, I work along side Anne on the Scrapmatts DT, her work is so amazing, the detail she puts into her layouts with her stitching is 'Scraptastic'

Renee and Gillian - I know I'm cheating here as these to lovely gals share their scrappy goodness on the one blog but they both are incredible crafters.

Lisa Amiet - Lisa's work is truly amazing. The photographs she uses on her layouts are wonderful and I love her style.

Geli - I enjoy going onto Geli's blog and looking at her wonderful work. She also shares some pretty awesome tutorials too

So there you have it...my 'pay it forward' for the Leibster Award...go and check out all of their blogs and make sure you start following them - tell them I sent you xxx

These girls are all amazing so do go and check out their blogs. There are so many more inspirational scrappers out there whose work I admire so much. It would take all day to list you all!

Bucket List - Ch1 Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge

I have to thank my friend Anne for suggesting this awesome challenge site

I only managed to do the first challenge this month cos i've been super busy...but I loved the challenge..

'Now here's a thoughtful and fun challenge:
What is on your "bucket list" - your list of items that you want to accomplish before you "kick the bucket".  If you have already made a layout on this subject and your list has not been updated - maybe you'd like to scrap about an item from your first list that you have already accomplished or that you want to elaborate on.'

So I thought I would do my Bucket List...I haven't thought about scrapping a layout about it..

However I didn't write my list on paper...I actually have my bucket list online...so in teh envelope is a lil tag with the URL to my list.. (cheeky hey...)

Oh and for those that know me...yes...I used PINK!

now for some close ups...

I liked this flower chipboard from Scrapmatts CB 1023

This awesome flower comes from Purple Pumpkin and the little bit of chipboard poking out is also from Scrapmatts  CB 5052

...and one more scrapmatts chipboard CB 1020

Tea Cup Ride - Scrap the boys March Challenge

I haven't been scrapping much this month...
Ive been super busy with something you will soon find out about....

I whipped up this layout the other day based on the criteria on the
Scrap The Boys challenge blog for this month.

The challenge was to use
2 photos 6x4 or smaller
Chipboard
Washi tape
Mists/paints

and here is my layout

LOL not the most masculine layout you have seen...but my baby loves PINK!
This is Fletch ont he tea cup rides at an open day back in 2012...he was on that ride so many times we thought he was going to be sick because in between he would eat sausages, fairy floss and popcorn.

I have used Washi tape from Purple Pumpkin
Chipboard from Scrapmatts CB8001
